Can I get a Replacement DD214?
The DD Form 214, commonly known simply as the DD214, is an official document issued by the Department of Defense to military service members at their discharge, separation, or retirement from active duty service in the Armed Forces of the United States. The Armed Forces include the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Coast Guard (the USCG is technically an agency of the Department of Homeland Security, but they also issue DD214’s to service members exiting active duty service). The Service Academies (USMA, Naval Academy, USAF Academy) also issue DD214’s, if separation occurs before final graduation).
DD214’s are vital documents for prior military service members because they document the complete record of active duty in the armed forces. Medals and awards, final rank. Employers typically request a copy of the DD214 if applicants indicate that they have served in the military, and any application for veteran’s benefits begins with the production of a DD214.
How Do I Acquire a Copy of My DD214 Form?
DD214 forms are maintained in the service member’s Official Military Personnel File. Military Personnel Files are retired to the National Personnel Records Center, in St. Louis. To receive an official copy of your DD214, you must make a formal request to the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis on a form the federal government has designated for the purpose–a Standard Form 180 (SF-180).
Veterans who can’t wait up to 90 days for the government to process their request can hire an authorized expeditor to get the DD214 on an expedited basis. We have been providing this expedited service to our customers since 2007.

We are not employees of the National Archives (NARA) or the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). We are civilian researchers, who have been authorized to request and receive DD214’s via the NPRC and NARA research rooms, on an expedited basis. We have been providing this service since 2007, and have over 50,000 satisfied customers.
Why Choose Us to Expedite your DD214 Request?
Let’s face it; it is a hassle to order a copy of your DD214 from the National Personnel Records Center. If you fax or mail in the Standard Form 180 you have no way to know if they have even received it, or not. If you try to call to verify, they leave you on hold for half a day. If you use their online order form, you still have to fax or mail a copy of the signature, and then you are back at square one, wondering if they have received your signature and are processing your request, or not. If you do persevere and complete the order successfully, the NPRC advises you not to contact them for a status update for 90 days. If a private company has been authorized to request records in person at the NARA and NPRC Research Rooms and can provide official copies of the DD214 within a matter of days, why wait 90 days and go through the hassle of dealing with the government? Our online order form is simple and can be completed and signed in one easy step entirely online. We take the hassle out of ordering copies of your DD214. That’s why, since 2007, we have provided DD214’s to over 50,000 satisfied customers.
